Many Australian children arrive at school without the skills necessary to make the most of their early education. Studies have shown that prenatal reading to your child and continuing this daily from birth may translate into higher language and vocabulary skills before entering school. The Let’s Read website has some great tip sheets for all ages.
There are also some great books to start your little one with, Camden Paint the Town REaD has a variety of booklists to help make it easy to find a book for any child at any age.

Another way to get your kids into books is by visiting the library. There are three libraries in our local area: Camden, Narellan and Oran Park. Each of the libraries holds Babies into Books and Storytime sessions.
