Christmas always seems to be the busiest time of year and 2020 is no exception! The year seems to have moved slowly but with Christmas approaching it really has sped ahead! To bring some Christmas cheer and showcase some new and favourite Christmas books at Camden Libraries. The Camden Paint The Town REaD committee has put together a 12 days of Christmas booklist, highlighting two books you can borrow or read each day of the week until Christmas! By the end of 12 days you will have read 24 books! And if you read two books every day for a whole year you would have read a whopping 730 books!
Numerous studies estimate that as many as one in five children have difficulties learning to read. Reading has been associated as an early indicator of academic success. If we can read with our child every day from birth, this may translate into higher language and vocabulary skills before entering school. The Let’s Read website has some great tip sheets for all ages.

So as our reading mascot says…On the twelfth day of Christmas Binyang (the Bookasaurus) said to me! Two books a day, lots and lots of play and a song every day!
