We are seeking Expression Of Interest from Early Learning Chilldhood Centre's within the Camden local government area, to engage in an early literacy program.
Paint the Town REaD (PTTR) is an early literacy initiative that encourages everyone to read, talk, sing and rhyme with children from birth so that they are ready for reading and writing by the time they start school. To learn more about PTTR check out the booklet here Paint the Town Read.pdf
The Camden PTTR Committee would like to invite every early learning childhood centre in Camden to participate in a PTTR program running from March 28th-April 1st 2022. The program theme is ‘Paint Camden REaD Week’ and involves a dedicated storytime each day of the week held at each participating centre. We encourage the centre’s to get creative with ‘Painting the week REaD’ e.g. red foods, red decorations, red clothing. Each day, there is a picked theme that your centre can choose a book fitted to that theme. For example Mondays theme is Transport – your centre would then select a book to read relating to ‘transport’.
The foundation of this program is to have as many early learning childhood centre's in Camden increasing the awareness of Paint the Town REaD. We also hope this then flows into the children’s home life, encouraging parents to read, talk, sing, rhyme and play every single day with their little one.
If your center wishes participate, you will receive a marketing pack containing:
- The book themes and activities to compliment
- Flyers/posters to promote the week
- Information on Paint the Town REaD
- Information for parents on reading and speech development
If your centre wishes to participate or would like further details, please Contact Us
The Paint the Town REaD Committee look forward to sharing Paint the Town REaD program with you all!
