Now we have an idea of the federal budget, what about the state budget and what it brings for Camden’s children and families? It may take some time for this to be realised, however before long we will be accessing some great programs for our kids. Here’s a snapshot for you.
- Active and Creative Kids vouchers will continue (4.5-18years)
- Every pre-school aged child (3-6years) will receive a $100 voucher for swimming lessons
- $150.0 million has been allocated to deliver the Start Strong Free Preschool program for school year 2022 — continuing to provide approximately two days of free preschool per week to all eligible preschool children
- New public school for Gregory Hills
- Public sector employees who are expecting a child will be supported with paid special miscarriage and pre-term birth leave if needed.
- $109.5 million has been allocated over four years to develop 25 ‘Safeguards’ – Child and Adolescent Mental Health Crisis Teams across NSW. Providing community mental health services to children and adolescents with moderate to severe mental health issues and their families/carers.
This is just a snapshot of what’s to come, keep an eye out on these changes and how they might be able to support your family in the future.
