The draft Western Sydney Regional Affordable Rental Housing Contribution Scheme is on public exhibition until Monday, 7 April 2025!
We would like to hear from the community on whether this draft Scheme should be adopted in the Camden Local Government Area (LGA).
The draft scheme proposes to collect contributions from certain development to assist in funding the construction of new affordable rental housing in the Camden LGA. Increasing affordable rental housing locally means households on very low, low and moderate incomes who are priced out of the private rental market have the choice to stay living in the Camden community. Various people require affordable rental housing including single parent families or families experiencing a loss of income. Renting affordable housing may only be needed by families for a short period of time until their circumstances change and sometimes it is needed for much longer.
